What is TERPECA?
TERPECA, or the Top Escape Rooms Project Enthusiasts’ Choice Awards, is the most relevant and detailed guide to the world’s top escape rooms. Each year, the initiative brings together thousands of seasoned enthusiasts and experts from around the globe to vote for the best escape rooms they've experienced.
The goal is simple: to recognize and reward outstanding experiences that push the boundaries of gameplay, production, and storytelling. Only individuals who have played at least fifty escape rooms are eligible to vote, ensuring that only the highest-quality rooms make it into the final selection.
What Is the Best Escape Room in the World in 2024?
In 2024, a total of 604 enthusiasts participated in the first phase, nominating 1,042 impressive rooms. Of these, 385 received enough independent nominations (or were automatically qualified) to advance to the second phase.
In the second phase, 1,346 enthusiasts, including 559 from the first round, ranked the rooms, and their evaluations formed the basis for the final global rankings.
According to the 2024 TERPECA report, the top five escape rooms in the world are:
Le Cirque Magnifico (Magnifico’s Circus), Escaparium, Laval, Canada
Una Aventura de Leyenda (A Legendary Adventure), Mayto Kingdom (Mad Mansion), Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain
La Cathédrale Oubliée (The Forgotten Cathedral), Escaparium, Laval, Canada
Molly’s Game – Down the Hatch, Voorburg, Netherlands
La Taberna (The Tavern), The City Escape Room (Elements Escape Rooms, Vortex Escape), Terrassa, Spain
Our Room EX(IT) YU Was Also Nominated!
We're especially proud that our room Ex(it) Yu was listed among the nominated escape rooms. Considering this is our very first room, such recognition motivates us even more to continue offering a unique 1970s escape experience.
Two more rooms from Croatia were also nominated: The Magical Library (Escape Art) and The Haunted Hotel (The Old Lock Up Escape Rooms). Congratulations to them as well!
